Iguaca, the puertorican parrot

Iguaca almost became exinct. Spanish writings mention hundreds of thousands of parrots but just a few years ago there were less than 100.

A project was undertaken in the rain forest to repopulate them and today they are thriving. A small flock passes our house every day around 7:00 am, chattering loudly as they fly by.  We hear them chattering as they return to the rain forest around 5:00 pm.

My husband wondered if they were commuting to a job every day!
